This Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl is a great way to start your day. It has creamy yogurt and topped with fresh fruit for a healthier breakfast!
How does a healthy smoothie bowl sound to start your day off? Full of fresh ingredients and a great way to get most of your daily fruit servings in one dish! If you've said yes, then this Strawberry Banana Smoothie Bowl is for you. I'm probably a bit late to the smoothie bowl craze. I've seen them around forever but just now jumping on the bandwagon and wondering why I waited so long. I love smoothies and I love fruit so combining the two together makes a lot of sense! They are tasty, filling and good for you. You don't want to mess up the important meal of the day 🙂
I think one of the reasons I decided to make one of these is because a couple weeks ago I had the privilege of being a volunteer for a Pinch of Yum photo workshop. If you aren't familiar with Lindsay and her blog, then be sure to stop over. Not only does she take fantastic photos, but she now offers workshops in her {gorgeous} studio in Minneapolis. About 6 weeks go they were looking for volunteers for a two-day class during the week. I'm lucky my work schedule is pretty flexible so I applied and was accepted. Myself, along with another volunteer, and her office manager, were responsible for prepping/making some of the food, setting it out and keeping things running smoothly. What I loved about her workshop is that all the food is included. All meals, snacks and food to just practice with. Her workshop style is part lecture, part demo (where she tethers to her computer to give instruction) and then each student practices while she walks around answering questions and giving advice. My way of learning!
So where I was going with all this is one of the afternoon snack was smoothies with all different kinds of toppings. Students are encouraged (and expected) to grab whatever bowls they want and take pictures. After seeing everyone's creativity, I was hooked and knew I wanted to give one a try. Here's a shot of Lindsay demoing how to pour and shoot at the same time! In my shoots below, I had to use a tripod with a continuous shutter. I'm a bit too shaky to try this!
If you ever have thought about a photo class, I would definitely give hers a try.
Now the recipe.

Your photos are gorgeous! I'm always super shaky too, so I 100% have to use a tripod. It's a bit of a pain, but you can't fix a blurry pic. 🙁
