What ingredients are needed for Halloween Popcorn Snack Mix?
- Popcorn
- Butter
- Marshmallows
- Sprinkles
- Ghoul Mix M&Ms
- Candy Eyes
How do you make Halloween Popcorn Snack Mix?
In Step 1, melt the butter in a medium saucepan until completely melted then proceed to Step 2 by adding the miniature marshmallows.
Keep stirring as in Step 3 until the marshmallows are completely melted. The last step is pouring about ¾ of the marshmallow mixture over the popcorn that is in a large bowl. Set the remaining mixture aside for now.
In Step 5, stir the marshmallow mixture and popcorn together then in Step 6 spread out the mixture onto a cookie sheet either lined with a silpat mat or parchment paper.
Drizzle the remaining mixture (Step 7) over the popcorn then add your toppings as in the last step (Step 8). Be sure to add the toppings quickly before the mixture sets up.
Once the mixture has set up, about 10 minutes, break apart in pieces and serve.
Doesn't this look good? How long do you think it will last in your house?
Love that gooey marshmallow mixture!
What other ingredients could be used in a popcorn snack mix?
Really, let your imagination take you anywhere on this one. The M&Ms mix I found are caramel candies (I thought they were chocolate but I didn't read the label) so using plain color M&Ms could be substituted.
If you wanted to make this a salty mix, add in some crushed pretzel sticks.
Other mix-ins could include - candy corn, peanuts, rolos, etc.
I also decided to go the easy way and buy the popcorn already made. Another idea would be to buy kettle corn - that would get you sweet and salty right off the bat!
