This Easy Homemade Guacamole is definitely a recipe you need! This perfect texture guac is loaded with fresh ingredients like tomatoes, avocados, cilantro, chile peppers, onion and fresh lime juice. Ole!
I like Mexican food and tasty beverages but most recently I've discovered I really LOVE guacamole! I think the love kicked in about 18 months ago when we went to Cabo with a group of friends.
One day the guys were deep sea fishing and us gals went to town to a local cantina for lunch. Everyone right away (except me) ordered a couple bowls to share. So I thought why not give it a try and lo and behold, I really liked it!
Needless to say, the rest of that trip I did not pass on it and now with this recipe, can enjoy it here in the states!

FAQs
Choose a Hass avocado that is dark green, brown or black in color. The skin should have a bit of bumpiness to it instead of being smooth. Also give it a squeeze and see if it is still soft but firm. If so with all these things you are good to go!
It will usually last about 1-2 days. I press plastic wrap directly on top if we don't finish in one sitting (but rarely have any leftovers!). Once it starts turning brown then time to throw it out.
Simple ingredients such as avocados, onion, tomatoes, cilantro, peppers (such as jalapeno or serrano), lime juice and S&P are all you need. No other fillers are needed.
Top Tips
- make the guacamole right before you eat it. You can prep all the ingredients except avocados and be ready to mash it up right before serving.
- do not skip the lime juice as that helps prevent it from turning brown.
Make it a party by serving these Fresh Strawberry Margaritas and having some Mexican Fried Ice Cream!
