This Blackberry Mint Gin Bramble cocktail is a refreshing drink that is simple to make. It's similar to a gin and tonic but with fresh muddled blackberries and brandy! A favorite you can enjoy all year round.
I'm always on the lookout for a new mixed drink especially when we have guests over and now have a new winner! This drink is so refreshing and simply made in your blender with just a splash of club soda to finish it off.
The flavors of the blackberries and the mint are a fresh flavor explosion in your mouth. And while I don't mind alcohol, I especially like that the drink is not overpowered by it, it is just the right amount.
This cocktail is so refreshing and perfect for summer entertaining
So far this summer, I have made this drink a couple times to different sets of friends and everyone like it, with even some asking for a second (like me!)
Ingredients
- Fresh Blackberries
- Fresh Mint Leaves
- Gin
- Agave Nectar
- Fresh Lime Juice
- Blackberry Brandy
- Crushed Ice
- Club Soda
Instructions
What I really love about this recipe, is that other than the club soda, everything is tossed in a blender and pureed. You will need to use a fine mesh strainer to remove the solids.
Once you are left with the blackberry mixture, it also can be kept in the refrigerator for about three days. When ready to make the drink, place crushed ice in an old fashioned glass, add some mixture then top with club soda. I like placing fresh blackberries and mint as a garnish.

Other Cocktail Recipes
I have a couple other drink recipes that you might find refreshing for your guests. This Citrus Ice Cooler is made with oranges, limes and lemons (oh my!) and is so pretty too! If you like to incorporate herbs in your cocktails, this Grapefruit Lime drink also uses fresh basil.
Appetizers to serve
What's a party without appetizers, right? Keep it simple by serving these Caprese bites or try Lemon Whipped Feta dip that I made the other day.

Originally the bramble was invented by Dick Bradsell, at a club in London's Soho in the 1980s. As you might know, blackberry bushes are called brambles, hence the name. It was inspired by the fresh berries he ate as a child on the Isle of Wright. Thank you Dick!
His version calls for gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, creme de mure served over crushed. My version was inspired by a recipe I found at Cuisine at Home.
