Happy December 1st where I'm starting off the month with a holiday cocktail that makes the perfect after dinner drink. Tis the season for entertaining, though you don't need an excuse to have company to make this Butterscotch White Russian. I've made these a a couple times now - once after we went out with some friends for dinner and had them back to our place for dessert and drinks. And the other was with the family on Thanksgiving day. We had finished dinner, cleaned up and ready to start looking at the black Friday ads. It also was a pretty day as it was snowing a bit and this cocktail seemed like the perfect mid-afternoon drink as we were ad looking I'm not really a black Friday shopper unless I go out at 6 PM (not AM) and even then I feel like there is not much I'm missing that I can't pick up at a later time. But it is certainly fun to start getting ideas and getting everyone to make their lists all while having a tasty beverage.
What sets this apart from the other "russian" drinks (a traditional white russian is vodka, coffee liqueur and cream while the black russian is just vodka and coffee liqueur) is the butterscotch schnapps and white chocolate liqueur which really meld well with the vodka and half-n-half. This recipe will definitely be making more rounds this holiday season.
And speaking of holidays - 24 days is left until Christmas! I have managed to get a bit of shopping done thanks to the lists I received last week. My goal is to be done no later than the 14th. And if I'm really on top of things, all the wrapping will be done too! Then I'll treat myself to another one of these Butterscotch White Russians!
Another holiday drink you might enjoy - Pomegranate Martini.
Cheers!

The measurement sizes of the ingredients don't sound right. Are you sure those are correct?
