~Lemon Whipped Feta Dip~
I am totally loving this dip recipe I'm sharing with you today. It really hits the spot with all the wonderful flavors and can be on your party table in 10 minutes. You might just need to make a double batch since it will disappear fast!
Last week we rented a cabin in northern Minnesota. I had just made this dip the day before so packed it along to share with everyone. As soon as I pulled it out with some fresh veggies and pita chips, it was gone (and then I did wish I made a 2nd batch!)
Whipped feta dip is so creamy and the addition of lemon provides a tangy flavor
The easiest part is the entire dip is made in a food processor. Just add all your ingredients and pulse your processor a few times, and presto, the dip is ready to eat.
I kept it simple by buying a bag of pita chips but in my Roasted Red Pepper Dip recipe, I used pita bread to make my own. There are super easy and have a bit of spice to them that would go perfectly with this dip as well.
What ingredients will you need for lemon whipped feta dip?
- Feta Cheese
- Sour Cream
- Mayonnaise (full fat and not Miracle Whip)
- Lemon
- Garlic
- Dried Dill
- Dried Oregano
- Dried Thyme
- Salt
- Pepper
- Red Pepper Flakes
- Sesame Seeds
- Olive Oil
What are tips for making lemon whipped feta dip?
The easiest way to make the dip is using a food processor. If you do not have one, a hand mixer would work well too.
Block feta can be a bit watery when taken out of the package. I usually do a quick rinse under my faucet and then pat it dry. Break it up a bit too before adding to processor.
The recipe calls for toasted sesame seeds. You can make your own by placing them in a small non-stick pan and letting them brown a bit over medium heat (does not take long)
Use the back of a spoon to make a swirl on the top and drizzle the olive oil in the swirl.
You can definitely make this recipe ahead. It will keep refrigerated for three days. I would let it warm up a bit before serving.
What other dip recipes would be good for a party?
A couple of other savory dips that would make your party fun (and delicious) is this Mediterranean Feta dip that is loaded with cucumbers, kalamata olives and roasted red peppers.
And be sure to try this Cannellini dip that is made with only five ingredients. If you are looking for a sweet dip, I would suggest this Apple Pie Caramel dip.
